Accreditation readiness and gap analysis

Preparation begins with a review of the intended scope, relevant criteria, available documentation and current academic practice. This distinguishes missing evidence from issues that require a change in practice. Priorities, responsibilities and dependencies are then set out in a working plan, so the university can address the most consequential gaps first.

Self-evaluation report support

Support for the self-evaluation report (SER) includes structure, critical analysis, editorial review and consistency across sections. The aim is to explain how the institution or program meets the relevant criteria, where difficulties remain and what action is being taken. Academic judgments, factual accuracy and final approval remain the university’s responsibility.

Evidence preparation and document coordination

Evidence is mapped to review criteria and checked against the claims made in the report. Academic regulations, program information, student data, committee decisions and examples of improvement need clear ownership and consistent versions. The emphasis is on relevant, traceable evidence rather than the largest possible collection of files.

Accreditation site visit preparation

Preparation helps leadership, academic staff, students and other participants understand the purpose of the review and explain their own experience accurately. It includes reviewing the agenda, checking access to supporting evidence and identifying issues that need clarification. The objective is an informed discussion, not rehearsed answers or concealment of weaknesses.

Responses, conditions and follow-up

After the external review, support can include organizing additional evidence, reviewing factual responses and translating findings into actions with named responsibilities. Where conditions or recommendations are issued, the work focuses on the relevant requirements and documented progress. Any subsequent decision remains with the responsible accreditation body.

Coordinating multiple programs and faculties

A multi-program accreditation project requires consistency without treating every degree as identical. Some evidence belongs at university level, while other evidence must show how a particular program operates.

Saygidan helps distinguish shared institutional material from program-specific documentation and coordinate the work across faculties, central services and quality assurance teams. Program names, learning outcomes, staffing information and supporting documents are checked for consistency. Academic differences remain visible rather than being removed to fit a common template.

What an engagement can deliver

Depending on the agreed scope, working outputs can include a readiness assessment, a prioritized preparation plan, a criteria-to-evidence map, reviewed SER sections, a documentation tracker and a site visit preparation plan. Follow-up work may include a register of findings, actions, responsibilities and supporting evidence.

These are working tools for the university, not substitutes for academic decisions or evidence that does not yet exist. The scope and timing are established around the institution’s starting point and the external review requirements.

Questions about accreditation consultancy

When should a university involve an accreditation consultant?

An early review can help establish what is ready and what needs attention before submission dates are fixed. Support can also begin during an existing process. The appropriate scope depends on the quality of the current documentation, unresolved academic issues and the time available for meaningful improvement.

Can Saygidan help with an existing self-evaluation report?

Yes. The work can start with the university’s current draft and supporting documents. A review can identify gaps in analysis, inconsistent information and unsupported claims, then help the responsible teams revise the report. A new report is not automatically required.

Does university accreditation support always mean institutional accreditation?

No. The client is a university, but the agreed procedure may concern a group of academic programs rather than the institution as a whole. Saygidan’s consultancy coordinates preparation across the programs involved. The applicable review framework determines the accreditation level; program accreditation and institutional accreditation are not interchangeable.

Does consultancy guarantee accreditation?

No. Saygidan provides independent preparation and advisory support, not an accreditation award. The relevant body determines eligibility, conducts its procedure and makes the formal decision. The university remains responsible for its educational provision and the evidence it submits.
